I was extremely privileged to work with TVAA on the documentary series “Emergency Helicopter Medics”-CH4. After filming was completed TVAA commissioned me to document the work of their doctors, paramedics, and pilots. Being a charity, TVAA rely completely on public donations, therefore it is vital to record and showcase the life saving work they do on a daily basis.
“Extreme Airport Africa” is a documentary series commissioned by the Smithsonian US.
I spent six months over two years filming with GNAAS, with some of the most experienced pre-hospital and Trauma surgeons, anaesthetists, RESUS consultants, paramedics, and pilots in the world. During that time I witnessed some truly remarkable pre-hospital emergency procedures in life and death scenarios. These images are a small selection representing these truly fantastic and giving individuals saving lives on a daily basis.

The “Highway thru Hell” is the Coquihalla highway mountain pass that links the interior of British Columbia to the west coast of Canada, and Vancouver. During the harsh winter months, vast numbers of heavy goods traffic travels through ice storms, blizzards, avalanche, and everything a Canadian winter has to throw at it. The hard men that clean up the inevitable chaos, are the emergency services, towing and recovery, highway maintenance, avalanche control, and mountain rescue workers. Their triumphs and failures are documented on the hit Discovery Channel show, “Highway thru Hell” Whilst filming the show as a producer/director, I was able to grab a few of these images.
